On a park that resembled the Somme rather than a sporting field both teams really struggled with the muddy surface and disaster struck early for the Claymores when Nick Davis broke his ankle on a punt return.
Both teams struggled to find any offence and the Admiralds took the lead with a 44 yard Field Goal in the first quarter.
That ended the scoring despite a Jensen 46 yarder sailing wide at the end of the second quarter.
The second half was more of the same but the Claymores were threatining when a woefull pass by Hybl was picked off at the 4 yard line without a Claymore in site.
Aynes came off the bench and led the Claymores into Field Goal range late in the game but Jensens attempt at a 46 yarder to send the game onto overtime fell woefully short and The Ads ran out the clock to fin their first game of the season.
