SATURDAY 27th APRIL 2002  FRANKFURT
BACK
Another tough road trip faced the Claymores as they went into Frankfurt to face the undefeated Galaxy.
Both teams struggled to move the ball with Dreisbach seemming to carry on from where he left off last week with poor passes and recievers running wrong routes. Again penalties hurt the team, none more so than a personal Foul call on Tove on a critical third down situation.
After a scoreless first quarter, Alexander dived in from the one yard line to put Frankfurt in front while Claymores drives stuttered and stalled. The Claymores defence was keeping the team in the game ans Tynes booted a  42 Field Goal after a 52 yard kick off return by Rooths had been negated after yet another penalty.
Dreisbach finally got into his rythmn as the second quarter ended with a pass to set up Tynes for a 37 yard field goal so at the half the Claymores were just one point behind.
Frankfurt consolidated theur lead with two Kimrin Field Goals in the third quarter as Scotland continued to find was to lose the game, after intercepting Hamilton, on the very next play Goodman fumbled and the Galaxy recovered.
Dreisbach went out injured and James Brown took over the controls adding a new dimension with his running and scrambling ability but again the drive stuttered and Hart kicked a 32 yarder to cut the lead to one score.
The match finished when late on in the game withScotland driving, Brown was hit as he threw and was picked off by Ivy
Again, respect is due to the defense who kept the team in the game. two weeks on the road and they have done magnificently BUT unless the ofence gets back on track...and soon then its going to be another long long season thinking of what might have been.
