The club was formed in late July 1998 when a letter was circulated from the Claymores for fans in the Aberdeen area. A meeting was set up and it was decided that there was a need to organise transport from the city to Claymores home games. We also managed to get a city centre venue to screen the away matches which were shown live.
We have arranged transport to all the home games for the last two seasons as well as a trip to Frankfurt for the 2000 World Bowl

We decided on the name of the club after toying with a few but plumped for 611 YARDS (ABERDEEN) in honour of the world record single game passing yardage achieved by Claymores, Carolina Panthers allocated quarterback, Dameyune Craig during a match in Frankfurt in 1999. This feat saw Craig inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame in Canton Ohio. This is a unique accolade as players normally only qualify after retiring from the game for a number of years. Craig's picture, jersey and helmet are on show in Canton.

The club has also been represented at Claymores Fan Association (C.F.A) meetings and our future plans include organising trips to one or more away matches for the coming season.
